Itinerary

Make your own way to Rome where you can meet us for the scheduled group transfers to your hotel. The hotel offers free daily shuttle buses and is only 20 minutes from the Vatican. You’ll have time to settle in and get to know your fellow travellers.

Get your first taste of Rome’s ancient ruins and architectural wonders on a walking tour led by a Local Guide. Tick off bucket list attractions from the ornate Trevi Fountain and imposing Pantheon
to the Spanish Steps. In the afternoon, continue exploring Rome’s iconic architecture at your own pace or take advantage of our optional excursion to the Colosseum.

Today you’ll have plenty of free time to explore major monuments like the Roman Forum or lesser-known neighbourhoods like arty Trastevere. Alternatively, join our tour for ‘skip-the-line’ entrance to the Vatican Museums and the ornate Sistine Chapel.

Next up is Naples, a city made famous for its mythical links and tasty Neapolitan pizza. On our way, we’ll stop at a vineyard in Frascati, famed for its crisp white wine. We’ll then cruise through gorgeous countryside, pausing briefly at Monte Cassino to view the poignant WWII cemetery and historic abbey that was damaged during the war.

Make the most of Naples’ art heritage during a day of leisurely sightseeing. Admire Duomo di San Gennaro’s frescoes or marvel at Caravaggio masterpieces at the Museo di Capodimonte. If you’d
rather get out of the city, sign up to our optional excursion to Capri. As well as a boat trip along the balmy Mediterranean coast, you’ll get to uncover all four corners of the glamorous resort island.
In the evening, visit Naples and recreate Naples’ namesake pizza for dinner under the instruction of an expert.

Pompeii’s ancient ruins are the stuff of legends and they’ll be brought to life by a Local Guide on our unmissable walking tour. Afterwards, we’ll journey down the coast to the picturesque village of Sant’Agata near Sorrento. Soak up sea views over the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno from your hotel.

Sweeping panoramas await in Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. You’ll have a day to explore the town’s maze of charming alleyways and sample local delicacies like limoncello.
You could also indulge in an optional lunchtime cookery class or the ‘I 3 Tenori’ opera evening in Museum Correale’s impressive hall. Inspired by the famous ‘Three Tenors’ concerts performed by Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras, you’ll hear songs from iconic Italian operas as well as regional tunes.

We’ll explore the region’s pastel-hued villages, tranquil coves and iconic towns, including Amalfi with its striped Byzantine buildings, and Ravello - famed for its clifftop pleasure gardens. There
will also be a stop at Positano to photograph its beautiful boutiques and colourful cafés.
End your exploration of Italy with a memorable farewell dinner hosted by a local family in their Sorrento farmhouse. Take a tour of the farm and enjoy a traditional Italian meal.

Your tour comes to an end today. Scheduled group transfers are available to the airport, please see www.justyou.com/transfers
