Make your own way to Calgary before transferring to your hotel downtown. The rest of the day is for you to spend in Calgary at leisure.
Today you'll transfer to Banff for a sightseeing tour of Banff National Park.
In Banff National Park's huge pine forests, black and grizzly bears still roam free and the area is home to spectacular sights such as wondrous snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear lakes, sparkling streams and rugged canyons with crashing waterfalls. Our tour today includes visits to the Hoodoos, Surprise Corner and Bow Falls, and you might opt to take a ride on the Banff Gondola.
This evening we'll get together for dinner.
Lake Louise – a glacial jade-green lake high in the mountains, surrounded on all sides by towering peaks – is often described as the most beautiful place in Canada. Our included excursion to the lake today gives you the chance to see if you agree.
The Banff-Jasper Highway reaches almost 7,000ft above sea level at points and is flanked by great mountain ranges soaring to more than 11,000ft. As we head along this magnificent highway to Jasper, a stop at the Great Columbia Icefield provides an opportunity to take an Ice Explorer ride across the Athabasca Glacier.
The former railroad town of Jasper is now home to the breathtakingly beautiful Jasper National Park. On this morning's tour we'll view the turquoise waters of Maligne Lake, set in a canyon and ringed by snow- and ice-capped mountains.
During free time this afternoon you could choose to take an optional river raft ride, and in the evening there's the chance to take a walk on the wild side with an optional nature walk.
Our journey to Sun Peaks in British Columbia takes us over Yellow Head Pass, past Mount Robson – the highest peak in the Rockies – and along the Trans-Canada Highway. The scenery may be spectacular but the highlight of your day is sure to be our stop at Blue River for an exciting Rockies river safari. This once-in-a-lifetime cruise will take you through Grizzly Bear Valley on the lookout for an array of wildlife including moose, eagles, ospreys and, of course, grizzly bears.
We continue our scenic journey through the Rockies today, towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver.
Boasting one of the most beautiful settings in the world, Vancouver is surrounded by mountains, forests and delightful islands. On our sightseeing tour we'll take in Chinatown, Gas Town, the remarkable 1,000-acre Stanley Park with its famous totem poles and the magnificent harbour.
Granville Island is a huge draw for locals and tourists alike, thanks to its theatres, restaurants and shops. The highlight for most is the indoor public market with stalls selling gourmet delicacies, baked goods and seafood.
Vancouver’s North Shore, featuring
the Capilano Suspension Bridge and
Grouse Mountain, is well worth a visit
and you can do so on an optional
excursion this morning if you wish.
Victoria on Vancouver Island can be reached by ferry, and if you choose to join an optional excursion, that's how we'll reach the capital of British Columbia.
On our city tour you'll be able to admire the architecture here and see how its British Victorian heritage is perfectly preserved. More highlights include the marvellous Butchart Gardens – 50 acres of spectacular floral displays and emerald-coloured lawns. We'll also visit the Parliament Building and the classic Empress Hotel, sitting next to Victoria's sparkling harbour.
A farewell drink with your fellow travellers this evening will bring your tour to a perfect end.
At the end of the tour, you can join your fellow travellers on a transfer to the airport or choose to make your own arrangements.
Experience even more of your destination by adding one or more optional excursions to your vacation before you set off. Right now is the perfect opportunity to do that – with everything booked and paid for you’ll have even more to get excited about and all you’ll need to think about while you’re away is having a great time.
By the way - look out for ‘Optional Excursion Packages’. For some holidays we’ve grouped a selection of excursions into a package which means you can make a saving when you book in advance.
Prices shown may vary according to departure date and are subject to change. The full range of excursions will be detailed in your vacation information pack, sent approximately 15 weeks prior to departure.
Canada - Banff - Athabasca Glacier
This unique trip takes you on to the Athabasca Glacier in one of the specially built Ice Explorer vehicles. With expert driver/guides, experience the thrill of going on to the glacier in one of these giant vehicles. Don’t worry about walking on the ice; it’s as deep as the Eiffel Tower is high!!

Canada - Jasper - River Rafting
Join the fun and experience easy rafting / scenic float trip down the Athabasca River, a designated Canadian Heritage River. A National Park licensed guide will provide commentary on the human and natural history of Jasper while navigating you along the same route used by the “fur traders” over 2 centuries ago. There is always a chance of seeing various wildlife including elk, deer, moose, coyotes, wolves, eagles, ospreys, mountain sheep and bears.
Lifejackets and the specially designed rafts offer a safe and comfortable ride through several small, easy sets of rapids and calm stretches that any first time rafter will enjoy. The guides do all the rowing; you sit back and enjoy while exploring all the spectacular scenery. Tours will operate rain or shine, and a poncho will be provided when required.
Afternoon excursion - Easy - Memorable
Canada - Vancouver - North Shore
Appreciate the spectacular views in a cable car to the top of Grouse Mountain, the ‘Peak of Vancouver’, where there is also plenty to do. In summer months the city’s winter ski area is transformed into a summer activity centre. Visit the mountain’s two resident grizzly bears - Grinder and Cooler, perhaps watch the entertaining Lumberjack Show or a birds in motion demonstration. From the beginning of October onwards, the summer activities break as the resort prepares for the Winter season, the summit is still worth a visit and the Theatre in the Sky, restaurants, cafes and shop remain open.
We also take the opportunity to visit Vancouver’s oldest tourist attraction - the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The bridge stretches 450ft across and 230ft above Capilano River. Cross to the other side and there’s an eco-friendly walk in the treetops waiting for you to conquer. There is also a Spectacular Cliff Side Walk, looking down onto the Capilano River as you wind your way through the rain forest, as well as the full history and photo’s on display.
This is a private tour for you group escorted by your tour manager and includes all transportation and entrances to both attractions.
