Day 1 Passau

Make your own way to Passau where you will join your Nicko Cruises ship. After time to settle into your cabin, meet your traveling companions over a welcome drink prior to dinner onboard this evening. Meals included: D

Day 2 Vienna

Today you will enjoy a morning at leisure sailing towards Vienna, there are few places that can so delightfully evoke the spirit of Christmas than here. After lunch, explore Austria's stylish capital and largest city, characterised by its abundance of beautiful baroque buildings and historic association with music. View the Gothic St Stephen's Cathedral which casts its shadows through narrow cobblestone streets and the Imperial Palace of Hofburg, former royal court, now home to a collection of museums, the Vienna Boys' Choir and the world famous Spanish Riding School. There will be time for you to explore at your leisure and enjoy the famous Christmas markets, which have been held since the Middle Ages, before returning to your cruise for dinner this evening. Day 3 Krems

A morning at leisure to enjoy your cruise, after a leisurely lunch arrive to Krems.  The twin town of Krems-Stein offers a wealth of culture and history, the city's thousand-year and more history is everywhere, be it on the streets and squares or in old churches, monasteries and the town houses and fortified buildings. In the run-up to Christmas, the Kittenberger Gardens are transformed into a veritable sea of lights. Experience the special magic of Advent in the middle of the lovingly landscaped show gardens. Of course, a glass of mulled wine or punch should not be missed. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 4 Linz - Steyr

Depart from Linz to the famous Christkindl region, which becomes the centre of Christmas events each year and where ancient customs come alive again. The church in Christkindl, is a place of pilgrimage and stands today on the spot where the seriously ill conductor Ferdinand Sertl once placed a small wax child Jesus in the hollow of a spruce and prayed again and again until he was finally healed. You can send Christmas greetings to your loved ones at home from the Christkindl post office before continuing on to one of Austria's oldest cities where you can immerse yourself in the romantic atmosphere of the town of Steyr on a guided walk.
