Get ready to fall head over heels for Canada's most jaw-dropping winter landscapes. Together, we'll journey through the UNESCO-listed Banff National Park, a vast wilderness of glistening glaciers, snow-capped peaks and pine-laden forests, before arriving at the shores of Lake Louise, where a stay in one of the world's most iconic hotels awaits.
We'll ride the famous Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, glide through snowy valleys on a horse-drawn sleigh, and take in the breathtaking scenery of Johnston Canyon, where icy waterfalls and lush forests make for an unforgettable winter hike.
For those feeling adventurous, there's the chance to explore the frozen shores of Lake Louise on snowshoes, an experience like no other.

Day 1 Banff

Make your own way to the hotel where your Holiday Director will meet you for your welcome meeting this evening. Meals included: D

Day 2 Banff

Today we'll explore the UNESCO-listed Banff National Park, right in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This natural wilderness is home to sparkling glaciers, snow topped mountains, icy lakes and pine-laden forests. We may be lucky enough to see some of the local wildlife, such as elk, moose, deer and wolves. Other scenic highlights are the Hoodoos of Bow Valley, imposing spires of rock carved by wind and water, and the sensational views at Surprise Corner. We'll take a ride on the famous Banff Gondola - a cable car that will take us to the top of Sulphur Mountain for unrivalled views of Banff and the six scenic mountain ranges that surround the region. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Banff at your own pace. Tunnel Mountain and Bow River are within walking distance, along with a great selection of restaurants and bars only a few minutes away from your accommodation. Or you could even just sit back, relax and take advantage of the hotel facilities. Meals included: B

Day 3 Banff

Today we'll head to the snow by sleigh as we travel through the wintry landscape, drawn by horses. We'll take in the spectacular views accompanied by the sound of sleigh bells on this amazing ride.
Later, there's a chance to warm up by taking a dip in one of Banff's natural hot springs. Located in an historic spa and bathhouse but with lovely modern amenities, just sit back and relax in the soothing hot waters while viewing the snow-covered peaks in all directions. Meals included: B
Banff - Lake Louise

Day 4 Banff - Lake Louise

Today we'll depart Banff and make our way to picture-perfect Lake Louise. On the way, should the weather permit, we'll visit Johnston Canyon. The Canyon is well known for its amazing views, dense forests and icy waterfalls.
We will then arrive into Lake Louise, a hamlet in the National Park known for it's glacial lake high in the mountains overlooked by peaks on all sides and a chateau, which will be our home for the next two nights. The iconic Fairmont Chateau was built more than 100 years ago as a base for outdoor enthusiasts and alpinists and it has played a part in the colourful history of the Rockies.
Later today you might choose to go on an amazing optional excursion which takes you on a snowshoeing tour of Lake Louise. This ancient and efficient mode of transport simply involves wearing specially designed snowshoes which distribute your weight over a larger area, allowing you to walk on the snow with ease, without sinking into it. Day 5 Lake Louise

How you spend today is entirely up to you. You could choose to explore the hotel's excellent facilities and wonderful surroundings. Or why not treat yourself to a relaxing day of wellness at the thermal spa, or perhaps you may just want to explore more of the lake in your own time. Meals included: B
Lake Louise - Calgary

Day 6 Lake Louise - Calgary

Sit back and take in more stunning scenery today as we journey by road back to the biggest city in Alberta, Calgary. Arriving at lunchtime, we'll take in the views of the cityscape, including the Calgary Tower, before checking into our hotel nearby. Later this evening we'll get together for a farewell dinner and share our favourite moments from our time in the mountains. Meals included: B,D

The vast area of Lake Louise, Alberta offers up the opportunity for endless adventures so take to the outdoors and explore on snowshoes. Winter reigns supreme with the Great Divide being covered by snow for more than 5 months, the area is superb for this ancient and efficient mode of travel. After gearing up and a brief explanation of snowshoeing, you and your fully certified guide will venture into the forest to look for signs of wildlife that have adapted to the demanding winter conditions. Learn to read the tracks of different animals and discover who is hunting who for lunch. There is no doubt that you will enjoy your winter adventure in the heart of the Rocky Mountains
