Together we'll journey through India's most colourful corners, beginning in Delhi where we'll walk through history at the Red Fort and support a project that changes young lives at Salaam Baalak Trust. We'll wind our way north to the beautiful hill station at Shimla, where Bollywood history meets mountain air, before heading to Mumbai's energetic streets and iconic Gateway of India. From here, we step aboard the luxurious Deccan Odyssey, a five-star train that carries us through Rajasthan in genuine style. We'll explore Vadodara's royal palaces, cruise Udaipur's tranquil lake, and wander Jodhpur's Blue City beneath Mehrangarh Fort. In Jaipur, blue gives way to pink as we discover forts and bustling bazaars, and in Agra we'll stand before the Taj Mahal, a sight that never disappoints. Our final adventure takes us into the wild, searching for tigers on safari at Ranthambore National Park, home to some of India's most treasured wildlife. From royal cities to national parks, this is India in its full and vivid colour, and we'll experience every mile of it together.

We'll begin our exploration of Delhi with a visit to the Salaam Baalak Trust, a Planeterra community project dedicated to providing care, education and opportunities for street and working children. Guided by young adults who have benefited from the Trust's programmes, this inspiring walk offers a unique insight into Delhi's hidden stories while directly supporting a responsible tourism initiative. We'll continue to Old Delhi to see the Red Fort and enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride though the narrow lanes of the Old Delhi. In New Delhi we will see the government buildings - India Gate, President House and Parliament House. We'll then visit the Rail Museum which tells the story of India's railway heritage. We'll also visit the beautiful Sikh temple Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and see how they feed thousands of the Sikh community every day.

This morning we will leave Delhi to take the train north to Kalka before transferring to the famous toy train which will take us to Shimla. This spectacular journey crosses bridges and cuts through tunnels on its route to the hill station town where we will stay for three nights.

This morning we will depart Shimla and travel to Mumbai. We travel first to Chandigarh where we board the flight for the energetic city of Mumbai.

This morning we'll have the chance to explore some of Mumbai's highlights, including the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum and take a short walking tour of Kala Ghoda Chowk where galleries and art stalls mix. We'll make sure to take in Marine Drive and the iconic Gateway of India before travelling to the station to board the Deccan Odyssey.
Today is the day we step into the realm of royalty as we board the luxury heritage train for our seven-night stay onboard. The train offers five-star luxury and you'll indulge in grandeur, impeccable service, and a nod to yesteryears. After a welcome reception, settle in to your cabin before departing for Vadodara.

Today, we will arrive in the Royal City of the Gaekwads - Vadodara. We'll visit the famous Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, home to a large number of art works.
Before re-joining the Deccan Odyssey we will enjoy snacks and tea at the Laxmi Vilas Palace, built in 1890 as residence for the royal family. The palace houses a remarkable collection of old armoury and sculptures.

Udaipur, often called the Venice of the East, is our destination today, and we arrive with time to take a tour of the City Palace and Crystal Gallery before a boat ride on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola. Later in the afternoon enjoy a walk through the charming streets of the Old City.

Nestled on the edge of the Thar Desert, Jodhpur is a city awash in blue, its walls, forts and havelis rising in shades of indigo below the imposing Mehrangarh Fort. We'll begin the day with a tour of the Blue City before exploring the fort's ramparts, then we’ll wander the bustle of the Old Clock Tower market, past blue-washed houses and old havelis.

From the Blue City to the Pink City as today we'll arrive in the historic capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, often known as the 'Pink City'. Whilst here, we'll see the forts and palaces, and explore the colourful, bustling bazaars of this beautiful city. The highlight is surely the Amber Fort, sitting high on a hill, this spectacular palace has grand courtyards, marble halls and beautiful frescos.

The Deccan Odyssey will drop us off in the magical city of Agra where we'll take in breath-taking views of the iconic Taj Mahal. This magnificent mausoleum, built by the Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz, is one of the world's most glorious sights. We'll enjoy lunch in the city before heading to visit Agra's Red Fort, another fine example of Mughal architecture, where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son.

Our next stop is Sawai Madhopur, our alighting point for our visit to the famous Ranthambore National Park. The park is one of the finest tiger reserves in the country and the most likely place to spot one of these majestic animals. We'll take a village walk, before heading into the jungle for a safari. As well as hoping to spot tigers, we'll look out for some of the other species that make the park their home, from herds of deer and wild boar to the flourishing populations of birdlife like partridge, quail, eagle and woodpecker.

The hotel ITC Maurya, located in New Delhi, has been acknowledged as a landmark in itself and is well known for excellent service. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, restaurant, garden and bar.
