Day 1 ScottburghMake your own way to Durban, where you can meet us for the scheduled group transfers to your hotel in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Flanked by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean to the east and soaring peaks to the west, this area is steeped in Zulu tradition and boasts incredible landscapes, thrilling wildlife and golden beaches.
After time to settle in at our hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure before we gather for a welcome drink and dinner.
Day 2 Tala Game Reserve
After breakfast we'll set off on a thrilling full-day excursion to the Tala Private Game Reserve, located in the hills close to the city of Durban. In the company of an experienced guide, we'll look out for wildlife including rhino, hippo, zebra, giraffe and antelope. The reserve is also home to more than 380 different species of bird. Lunch will be served in a restaurant overlooking the bush.
Day 3 Malangeni & Pennington
On today's visit to a local community, we'll meet the members of a women's sewing project and tour a cookery school and computer learning centre. These projects are run as part of the South African Social Upliftment scheme to redress past inequalities and increase the quality of life for local people.
This afternoon, you are free to enjoy the hotel's superb facilities - perhaps taking a dip in the swimming pool.
Day 4 Scottburgh - at LeisureIf you want to explore a little further afield, we offer an array of optional excursions. Wildlife lovers might also choose to experience an overnight stay at the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, which is renowned for its role in rhino conservation. This optional excursion includes one night's accommodation, a cruise along the estuary and an open-vehicle game drive.

Day 5 Scottburgh - at Leisure
For those who have chosen the overnight stay at Hluhluwe Game Reserve, you will return to the hotel. For those that have chosen to stay at the Blue Marlin, there is an option to visit Oribi Gorge on our optional excursion. Travel down the south coast and then inland to Oribi Gorge, a million-year-old canyon cut by the Umzinkulwana River. The gorge is around 400 metres deep and up to about 4 kilometres wide.
Day 6 Scottburgh - at Leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax at your hotel and explore at your own pace. Alternatively, join our optional excursion to Sani Pass, where you will join a 4x4 tour through the mountains to Lesotho.
Day 7 Scottburgh - at Leisure
We've left your final day free, so you can relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel. Alternatively, choose one of our optional excursions. You could visit Durban and discover highlights including the Old City, the Indian Spice Market and the Botanical Gardens, or head to the TC Robertson Nature Reserve, which lies on the edge of Scottburgh. Home to around 180 species of birds, we'll take a walk through the reserve before returning to the hotel.
This evening, we'll share our stories and experiences when we gather as a group for a farewell South African Braai.
