Day 1 Corfu

Make your own way to Corfu where you can meet us for the scheduled group transfers to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy a welcome drink with your fellow travellers.

Day 2 Corfu

Begin exploring idyllic Corfu during a guided tour. Highlights include admiring the Venetian architecture of Corfu town and enjoying vistas of the stunning coastline. We’ll also visit Sissy’s Palace (also known as the Achilleion), a neoclassical mansion. Next, head to Kapodistrias Museum. Housed in the former summer home of prominent Greek statesman Ioannis Kapodistrias, the museum tracks his life’s work and Corfu’s history during the early 19th century. You could also join our excursion to the Durrell family home, followed by a delicious meal at a traditional taverna in nearby Kalami.

Day 3 Corfu - Zagori

Today, we’ll catch a ferry to Igoumenitsa on the mainland and journey to the multicultural city of Ioannina on the banks of Lake Pamvotida. It boasts a fascinating mix of architecture, from ancient synagogues and mosques to churches dating from the Byzantine period. Discover its fortified walls, Ioannina Castle and the Mosque of Veli Pasha. In the afternoon, we’ll continue on to Zagori, which has been inhabited since ancient times. Get a chance to taste regional wines and enjoy homemade dishes during dinner.

Day 4 Zagori

Step back in time with a tour of some of Zagori’s 46 traditional stone villages set among dramatic peaks and enchanting forests. We’ll take you to Papigo and Megalo Papigo to soak up their oldworld charm and the region’s geological wonders. We also enjoy a Tsipouro brandy tasting. In the afternoon, you can also embark on an exciting optional river rafting experience.

Day 5 Zagori - Meteora

Today, we visit nearby Kalambaka before moving onto the town of Meteora - home to one of the world’s largest complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, which perch on huge natural rocky pillars. We’ll tour two UNESCO World Heritage structures before a walk following the trail used by monks.

Day 6 Zagori - Corfu

On your final day in Zagori, we’ll head to the village of Vitsa and follow its downhill trail across stone bridges and cobbled paths to reach the Vikos Gorge. Later we’ll return to Corfu for our final stay.

Day 7 Corfu - at Leisure

Enjoy a leisurely morning or join our optional nature walk. In the afternoon, there’ll be a chance to soak up views of Corfu and its imposing fortress on a cruise. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel with your travelling companions.

Day 8 Departure
