Day 1 Rome
Make your own way to Rome where you can meet us for the scheduled group transfers to your hotel. After settling into your room you’ll join the rest of the group for your first taste of Italy at a nearby restaurant.

After breakfast, unlock the secrets of the Eternal City on a panoramic walking tour. Discover one incredible sight after another, from the wonderfully preserved Pantheon to the impressive Spanish Steps. You’ll also wander around popular Piazza Navona, the city’s most famous Baroque square, and visit the spectacular 17th century Trevi Fountain.
In the afternoon, explore Rome’s maze of cobbled streets solo or sign up for the optional ‘skip-the-line’ entrance to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
Meals included: BDay 3 Siena - San Gimignano
Venture into Tuscany and stop off at stunning Siena, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval cities. Marvel at its beautiful mansions, ornate palaces and cobbled streets on a walking tour, before taking a break for lunch at bustling Piazza del Campo. Continue your journey through San Gimignano and the idyllic landscapes of rural Tuscany en route to your hotel in Montecatini Terme, where you’ll relax over more tasty Italian fare.

Tuscany's cuisine is one of the region's biggest draws, with the majority of dishes made from scratch using only the finest locally sourced produce. Today will be a real highlight for food lovers, as you'll not only get to visit the 12th century Castello del Trebbio but also enjoy a private cookery class. The picturesque historic estate is surrounded by lush vineyards and olive groves, the produce of which you'll get to sample over the course of the day. We will also learn all about the tastes and aromas of traditional Tuscan cooking and prepare our very own feast accompanied by some amazing local wines. Opera fans also have the option of catching a show at the prestigious Montecatini Opera Festival in the evening.
Day 5 Montecatini Terme - at Leisure
Have a day completely to yourself or book onto our optional excursion to stunning Cinque Terre. The coastal region is made up of five remote cliff top villages overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As they’re inaccessible by road, the trip will involve discovering two on a relaxing boat journey.

You can’t visit Tuscany without exploring Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Stroll across the enchanting Ponte Vecchio, admire the magnificent Duomo and marvel at the city’s glorious architecture during a guided tour.
After lunch, the Torre a Cona wine estate awaits you just outside the city. Owned by Count Rossi di Montelera, we’ll embark on a tour of its historic wine cellars and sample four fine wines paired with local nibbles.

Learn about the Field of Miracles on a guided tour, including viewing the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Afterwards, stroll along historic Lucca's ancient ramparts that sit at the foot of the majestic Apuan Alps.
Day 8 Orvieto - Rome
We’ll break up the journey back to Rome with a pitstop in Orvieto that’s reached by funicular railway. The beautiful medieval town is best known for its mosaiced Duomo di Orvieto and otherworldly underground caves.
Make your own dinner plans or enjoy an optional dining experience followed by an opera show in one of the area’s ancient churches.
